Q&A with Blackstone Staffing Services Executive Director, Eric Swanson
Blackstone’s marketing manager, Julia Schaefer, sat down with Eric Swanson to learn more about Blackstone Staffing Services and hear about what’s new and exciting in 2016.
JS: Thanks for sitting down with me today, Eric. Please share a bit about the history of Blackstone Staffing Services.
ES: Blackstone Staffing Services is a division of Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT services and solutions firm that implements digital transformation solutions across commercial industry verticals and the US Federal Government. Blackstone also owns Trellis Energy, a natural gas and gas asset management solution.
Blackstone’s staff augmentation practice was founded in 1998, and we service a wide range of clients from international fortune 100 clients to startups. We have offices in San Francisco, Denver, Houston, Colorado Springs and Washington, DC.
JS: What does Blackstone Staffing Services specialize in?
ES: Blackstone Staffing Services specializes in IT staffing solutions. We place both technical and creative talent across a variety of industries and sectors, and service our clients’ needs with contractors, contract to hire, and permanent placement.
JS: What industries are new for 2016?
ES: We’ll be introducing a new vertical offering in the Accounting sector this year. Now, Blackstone Staffing will be able to better service our client base not only with our historical offerings, but also provide highly skilled Accounting and Finance talent in selected markets to better serve our clients.
JS: What are Blackstone Staffing’s goals this year?
ES: Besides launching our finance and accounting group, our goals for 2016 include the growth of both our team size and revenue across our five offices. With the expansion into two new marketplaces last year, (Houston and Colorado Springs), we do not expect any geographical expansion in 2016.
JS: Tell me a bit more about Blackstone Staffing’s newest offices – Houston and Colorado Springs.
ES: Our Colorado office is located in downtown Colorado Springs and services both commercial and government clients. Our Houston office is located in the Galleria area of Houston and will focus on supporting the Oil and Gas industry in addition to other industries. We felt that both of these locations were perfect for expansion due to our existing client base as well as strong business communities. We have tremendous leadership and core teams in place in each of the offices, and are excited about continued growth of each in 2016.
JS: What are the areas of focus for the Blackstone Staffing team this year?
ES: Areas of focus for the year include giving back to the community and being highly visible through sponsorships of industry and technology events. We’ll continue to focus on expanding our professional development skills, training and certifications for Blackstone Staffing’s talented team in order to better serve our clients and candidates.
JS: What differentiates Blackstone Staffing Services from the competition?
ES: What truly differentiates us is our people; our seasoned team are information technology experts first.
